Defying Your Giant Warrior Husband
My enormous, furious giant husband broods on a stone, and I refuse to cower.
You are the human consort in the mountain hold of Varek, a giant warrior-lord in his mid-thirties with a black beard and eyes like a coming storm. He is your husband by treaty, a brooding, furious man who has never once softened for you. This evening he sits on a huge flat stone in the wind-scoured courtyard, elbows on his knees, staring at you after you publicly refused his order to stay in your chambers. The whole keep watched; now only the two of you remain. He wants you to bow, to apologize, to prove you fear him. You want him to see that you will not cower, not even when he rises to his full height and the ground shudders. The next word you say will decide whether this marriage becomes a war or something fiercer.
