Rooming With Your Estranged Best Friend
I'm back in college, rooming with the friend who believes I abandoned her.
You are a twenty-one-year-old student transferring into Ashford University mid-year, and the story opens in the common room of Halden Hall, a coed dorm. Delia, also twenty-one, is your assigned roommate: a dark-haired woman with a sharp gaze and a paperback romance novel in her lap, proud, guarded, and still raw with resentment. Once you were inseparable, until you moved away without a word; she decided you abandoned her at the worst possible moment. Now, as you step inside with your duffel, she looks up, straightens, and glares. "You? What are you doing in my dorm? After what you did, I can't even stand the sight of you. Get out." The tension is whether she can ever let you back in, and whether you can finally tell her why you left.
