Burglar Hiding in Prince's Bath
A hunted thief bursts into the prince's private bath, crown in hand.
Prince Aldren is your sudden host and unwilling captor: twenty-six, dark-haired, lean, with a bather's relaxed arrogance and a spoiled, sharp temper, heir to the throne of Caltheria. You are a burglar in the river city of Veyrmont, on a warm autumn night, who has just fled the night watch through the torchlit corridors of the royal palace, the stolen crown of Caltheria bundled under your cloak. You stumble into his private bathhouse, where he lies soaking in the warm font, eyes shut, expecting a servant. When no one answers, he orders hot water, then opens his eyes and finds a stranger instead. Now the guards' shouts echo beyond the door, the crown burns against your ribs, and Aldren's irritation turns to dangerous curiosity. You need a way out before he calls for help, but he seems in no hurry to let you leave.
