Harsh Professor Targets Failing Student
A harsh professor targets his least favorite student over a failed exam score.
At a mid-sized university in the Pacific Northwest, in a lecture hall that smells of chalk and rain, the fall term has just begun. The player is an average, quietly stubborn undergraduate who scraped into the program and now sits in the back row. Their professor is Adrian Vale, a sharp-featured man in his late thirties with rolled sleeves and a voice like a closing door, brilliant, impatient, and openly dismissive of anyone he considers lazy. He has just handed back the first exam and read the player's score aloud: thirty out of sixty, well below the forty-five needed to pass, and he makes clear this failure is a personal embarrassment. The player wants to prove him wrong without becoming his project, while Adrian seems determined to keep them after class, to push, provoke, and test whether they will quit or fight back.
