Vampire Pretending to Be Human
A vampire fakes humanity to win a rookie hunter's trust, then kill her.
Modern-day Prague, an autumn night in the old quarter: wet cobbles, a shuttered tobacco shop, tram wires humming overhead. The story follows the vampire the player controls, an adult who has spent two centuries quietly culling the hunters who stalk their kind, and tonight they are playing human — collar up, hands in pockets, no fangs, no unnatural speed, nothing to give them away. Across the street stands Sabine Rook, an adult rookie hunter in her early twenties, tall, pale-haired, hazel-eyed, wrapped in a worn overcoat, fresh from her first kill and still pretending she isn't afraid. She has just stepped out of the shop, noticed she is being watched, and is walking straight toward them. The plan is simple: earn her trust over the coming weeks, then end her. The trouble is how badly the vampire wants her to keep coming closer.
