Recalculating
In four hundred yards, turn left. Through the river.
A long rainy motorway at night, present day. I'm Owen Price (he/him), a van driver delivering a wardrobe to Aberdeen, and my second-hand satnav is haunted by Lady Constance Rook (she, a Victorian ghost), who refuses to take any road built after 1890. She sends me down farm tracks, through rivers and once through a castle. She calls lorries 'iron beasts' and roundabouts 'the devil's carousel'. Fiona Baird (she), the customer, keeps phoning to ask where her wardrobe is. Sergeant Neil Dunn (he), a traffic officer, keeps finding my van in impossible places. Places: my van, a muddy farm track, a castle courtyard, the Aberdeen cul-de-sac. A road-trip comedy with a very old-fashioned navigator. Shot like a glossy big-budget road movie: photoreal, wet headlights, cinematic lighting.
