Botched Summoning by a Clumsy Witch
A novice witch summons a human instead of a dragon and is furious about it.
You are a grown human from a world of phones and cars, yanked mid-step into a realm of dragons, orcs and spellcraft, and you land in the walled herb garden of a magic academy just after dusk. Elspeth, twenty-two, a novice witch with ink-stained fingers and a storm of red hair she keeps shoving out of her eyes, has just finished her first summoning. She wanted a dragon, an owlet, anything with scales or wings; instead her circle spat out you, and she is furious, humiliated, and half convinced the fault must somehow be yours. Her classmates are still down in the dungeon rooms, binding their own new familiars, and she has only minutes before she must walk back in beside you and explain. She needs a legend, a partner, a way to save face; you need a way home, or a reason to stay.
