An interactive AI movie game: you type, it plays the scene

Most AI story games answer with a paragraph. Slopverse answers with a scene: you type what your character does, and the turn plays out with pictures, voices and music, like a film you are directing one line at a time. 10 free scenes, about 10 minutes of film. No card.

Gameplay: the line the player typed appears over the scene it became (Nana Pilots the Giant Robot).

How a turn works

You write your move in plain words. Say you are a thief in a 1962 Riviera heist and you type that you slide the casino plans across the table to your crew. An AI writer continues the story from that line, and then the game directs what was written: which moments get a picture, who is speaking, and where the camera looks.

The pictures are painted shot by shot for what just happened. Every character speaks in a voice of their own, with a narrator between them, and their lips move as they talk. The narration is captioned on screen, and the music follows the mood of the turn: a fight switches the score at once. Then it is your move again.

None of it is pre-made. The pictures, the voices and the music are made fresh for your scene on rented graphics cards while you play, so a turn is not instant. That is the trade: a short wait, and in return a scene nobody has seen before.

Pick a world, or type your own

Start from one of the ready-made premises (fantasy, sci-fi, horror, crime, romance and more, each with a painted cover), or describe any world you can think of: a dentist appointment for the Chosen One, IT support for the Underworld, a sea voyage into a squall. The game sets the world up, casts it and opens on the first scene.

There is no script and no level list. You can talk your way out of a fight, start a fight nobody planned, or wander off to see what is behind the next door. The story goes wherever you take it.

Why a movie and not a chat log

Slopverse is made by Jonathan Larson, a one-person studio working with a crew of AI coding agents. He wanted the stories people already tell with AI chat to arrive the way films do: as a picture, a voice and a score, not a wall of text.

So the default way to play is cinema mode: the scene fills the screen, the captions sit under it and the camera moves through each picture. If you would rather read, a chat layout is one setting away.

Who it is for

Slopverse is for adults. Every account confirms it is 18 or older at sign-up. Stories can be dark, violent or romantic at about the level of an R-rated film; the pictures never show nudity. It plays in a web browser and is built for a computer; phones work too. There is nothing to install.

It is also new and small: one developer, a handful of players so far, and rough edges that are still being found and fixed. If you try it and something breaks, the report page reaches the developer directly.

What it costs

10 free scenes, about 10 minutes of film. No card. Plans from $10 a month: Starter $10 (100 turns), Plus $20 (225 turns), Director $50 (600 turns). Top-up: 50 turns for $6, never expire. A turn is one move you send. The current plans are on the pricing page.

Questions

Does Slopverse generate a video?

No. Each turn is a sequence of AI-painted pictures with voiced characters, a narrator, captions, music and camera movement, played together like a scene.

Do I need to install anything?

No. Slopverse runs in a web browser. It is built for a computer, and phones work too.

Can I watch it before I play?

Yes. A 24/7 stream on Twitch plays Slopverse live, with chat voting on every move: slopverse.ai/live.

Is Slopverse free?

10 free scenes, about 10 minutes of film. No card. After that there are monthly plans; see pricing.
