Best Infinite Worlds alternatives in 2026: seven AI story games like it
Updated
Infinite Worlds is a browser AI adventure where you can build your own worlds and, by default, get a picture on every turn. The right alternative depends on what you want more of: voices, an app, friends at the table, rules, or a different way to pay. Here are seven, each with what it is best for and what it does not do, checked on its own site on October 21, 2026. Disclosure: we make Slopverse, one of the seven. We placed it by fit, not first.

Prices are as each product's own pages or app listing showed them on October 21, 2026; follow the link for today's. Infinite Worlds is in the first row for reference; it prices its credits inside the app, not on a public page. None described means we did not find it on the product's site, help pages, update notes or app-store listing, not that it is missing. FableAI's speed is our stopwatch on its free guest play. Our own row's picture, sound and speed cells are measured on slopverse.ai.

What Infinite Worlds does well
Per its site, Infinite Worlds is "The AI game with unlimited freedom": you type whatever your character tries and the AI builds it into the story, with adventures "complete with illustrations". Its settings say "By default images are made every turn", and a Generate video button can turn a turn's picture into a short clip. Its biggest strength is building: describe a world in a few words or build one by hand, with characters, skills, tracked items and triggers, then share it in Community Worlds. Players who share worlds earn bonus credits, which its FAQ says can be cashed out.
It runs in a browser on credits. Accounts get daily free turns ("Temporary accounts don't get daily free turns"), and credit packs are priced inside the app. We found no voices or music described.
How we put this together
We have no accounts on these products, so this is not a hands-on review: every fact about another product is from its own site, update notes or app-store listing, quoted where it matters. The order is our judgment of how many people leaving Infinite Worlds each one suits, closest first to what its players enjoy: type anything, build or pick a world, start free.

The seven picks
1. AI Dungeon: best for open-ended text adventures with community scenarios
AI Dungeon is "a free AI text adventure game where players create open-ended stories", per its site, with a large library of scenarios and scripts made by players, and you can build and publish your own. Its Q3 2026 Alchemy update added a narrator that reads each response aloud, cover images, new image models and 5 to 15 second videos of a story moment, each when you ask (what Alchemy changed).
Price: free to play with a free story model, and paid plans from $14.99 a month (its pricing page). Trade-off: it is text first; pictures come when you ask, where Infinite Worlds pictures every turn by default.
2. Voyage: best for RPG worlds you build in a studio and play with friends
Voyage, from AI Dungeon's maker Latitude, calls itself "an AI-native RPG platform where persistent worlds remember your choices, relationships, and consequences across every adventure". Its Voyage Studio builds worlds with characters, lore, quests, rules and maps, its App Store listing says you can "Play with up to 8 players in co-op multiplayer", and its visual novel mode shows character cutouts and location art, with text-to-speech narration.
Price: a free starter balance, and "You can also play public multiplayer and scenarios for free" (its pricing page); paid plans start at $14.99 a month, and its update notes describe "Unlimited core play, in-game Studio, and optional premium Usage features". Trade-off: it is an RPG with levels, quests and combat, so it asks more of you than a free-form story, and its pictures are portraits and places rather than a new picture of every turn.
3. FableAI: best for free text RPGs with thousands of ready adventures and co-op
FableAI is "an AI text RPG that remembers your choices across chapters, solo or co-op with friends", with over 5,000 ready adventures or a world started from one sentence. Its free plan includes a limited number of scene images a day, and its paid plans add "Unlimited high-quality scene images" and "30 minutes of cinematic voice narration a month". It has iOS and Android apps, and its site says "You can also jump in right here in your browser".
Price: "Forever free", with paid plans from $8.90 a month (its plans page). Trade-off: free pictures are rationed by the day, and the voice is one narrator, counted in minutes.
4. LiveTale: best for solo campaigns with real dice, pay as you go
LiveTale runs solo campaigns with an AI game master, and its site says "every scene is illustrated as you play", with your hero drawn the same way each time. Risky moves get a single real dice roll. Like Infinite Worlds, you pay for what you play rather than a subscription.
Price: 15 free Pages, then 50 Pages for $7.99 (its FAQ). Trade-off: its characters talk in comic-style speech bubbles, and we found no spoken audio described.
5. Slopverse (ours): best for scenes you watch and hear, like a film
Ours. As in Infinite Worlds, you type anything and every turn is pictured without asking; Slopverse adds the sound. Each turn comes back as a scene: several pictures painted shot by shot for what just happened, every character speaking aloud in a voice of their own with a narrator between them, captions, sound effects and music that follows the mood. Start from one of hundreds of premises or describe a world in a line, and the game sets it up and casts it.
In Slopverse, the story starts coming back about 1 second after you send a move, and the first voice about 4 seconds after it (median, measured October 2026). In Slopverse, a typical turn brings two to four new pictures, each with depth and clickable hotspots (median two, measured October 2026). Slopverse paints each world in any art style and keeps it for every picture in that world; worlds played on it include live-action film stills, anime, oil paint, 3D animation, comic-book pages, stop-motion clay and pixel art. Slopverse's 3,126 sounds, made for the game, are each timed to the words and placed in stereo in the room's own acoustics. Slopverse's score draws on 1,436 music tracks, 1,273 of them split into instruments that come and go with the scene. Slopverse plays 154 visual effects over its pictures, from rain to embers, in time with the words. In Slopverse, every character speaks aloud in a voice of their own, with lip sync and a narrator between them.
Price: 20 free scenes, about 20 minutes of film. No card. Plans from $10 a month. (pricing). Trade-offs, plainly: there is no world editor, no community world library and no sharing payout; it is not unlimited, because every turn is painted, voiced and scored on rented graphics cards; there is no app (it is built for a computer browser, and phones work); and it is for adults (18+), at most about an R-rated film, with no nudity in the pictures. It is new, made by one developer, Jonathan Larson, with a crew of AI coding agents.
6. Friends & Fables: best for D&D-style campaigns with rules, maps and friends
Friends & Fables is built to "Create & Play AI RPGs": an AI game master named Franz runs campaigns in worlds you or other players build, with maps, lore, quests and "Tactical turn-based combat based on D&D 5e rules". Up to six players can share a campaign, and it generates images of characters, places and items.
Price: free for "Up to 25 turns per day", then from $19.95 a month, with text to speech on paid plans (its pricing page). Trade-off: it is a tabletop game first, and pictures are made on request rather than every turn.
7. DreamRunner: best for picking your own AI model and designing voices
DreamRunner calls itself "A never-ending visual novel — written, illustrated, and voiced as you play". As in Infinite Worlds you can pick the AI model, from over a dozen, and it adds voices you describe for each character and the narrator, with "Every scene illustrated on demand" in an art style you choose.
Price: a free tier of 50 images and 100 story generations that refill; "Upgrading unlocks premium AI models, voice, scene illustration, more art styles, and unlimited generation" (its FAQ; no dollar price on its public pages). Trade-off: pictures come when you ask, and its FAQ says stories are saved in your browser.
Which should you pick?
A big library of player-made scenarios, text first: AI Dungeon. Deep worlds you build and play with friends: Voyage. Free play with thousands of ready adventures: FableAI. A picture every scene, pay as you go: LiveTale. Every turn as a scene you watch and hear: Slopverse. Rules, dice and a party: Friends & Fables. Your choice of model, and voices you design: DreamRunner. If building and sharing your own worlds is what you love, Infinite Worlds' own editor and Community Worlds are still hard to match.
