Looking for a Perchance AI RPG alternative with voices and music?

Perchance is a site where people make and share generators, and its AI RPG and AI Text Adventure are text story games you play in the browser. Slopverse takes a different road: every turn comes back as a scene with pictures, voices and music. Here is what each one is for. 10 free scenes, about 10 minutes of film. No card.

Gameplay: the line the player typed appears over the scene it became (Nana Pilots the Giant Robot).

What Perchance is good at

Perchance's own page titles say it plainly. Its AI RPG is a text adventure that is "free, unlimited, no sign-up", and its AI Text Adventure is "free, no-signup, no limits". Both play in the browser. Perchance also lists a custom version of the AI RPG and an AI RPG template for building your own, among the many generators people create on the site.

If you want a text story game you can open in a tab and play without an account, or a generator you can tinker with, it is built for exactly that.

What Slopverse does differently

A scene, not a paragraph. Each turn is painted shot by shot for what just happened, every character speaks in a voice of their own with a narrator between them, the narration is captioned, and the score follows the mood.
Directed like a film. The game decides which moments get a picture, who is speaking and where the camera looks, so a story plays like a film you direct one line at a time.
The trade-off. Because every turn is painted, voiced and scored live on rented graphics cards, a turn takes a moment and costs real money to make. Slopverse gives free scenes to start, then monthly plans, and it needs an account to play.

You can start from one of hundreds of premises, each with a painted cover, or type any world in a sentence and the game sets it up and casts it.

Which one to pick

They are different things. If you want a free text story generator with no sign-up, Perchance is made for that. If you want every move you type to come back as a voiced, painted scene, try Slopverse.

Good to know

Slopverse is for adults (18+); stories can be dark, violent or romantic at about the level of an R-rated film, and the pictures never show nudity. It plays in a browser, built for a computer; phones work too. It is new and small, made by one developer, Jonathan Larson, with a crew of AI coding agents, and you can watch it play first on the 24/7 stream at slopverse.ai/live.

What it costs

10 free scenes, about 10 minutes of film. No card. Plans from $10 a month: Starter $10 (100 turns), Plus $20 (225 turns), Director $50 (600 turns). Top-up: 50 turns for $6, never expire. A turn is one move you send. The current plans are on the pricing page.

Is Slopverse made by Perchance?

No. Slopverse is an independent game made by Jonathan Larson; it is not affiliated with Perchance, and Perchance's name is used here only to describe it.

To play your own story, yes. You can watch the 24/7 stream at slopverse.ai/live without one.

Is Slopverse free?

10 free scenes, about 10 minutes of film. No card. After that there are monthly plans; see pricing.
